Santana Row
Santana Row is a 42-acre “village within a city” on Stevens Creek Boulevard: shops and restaurants at street level, homes above them, a hotel, two small parks and a calendar of free events.

Discover Santana Row
Santana Row stands where Town & Country Village opened in 1960, a shopping center built in the style of a Spanish hacienda with covered walkways. The first Chuck E. Cheese’s Pizza Time Theatre opened there on May 17, 1977. (Sourisseau Academy, Wikipedia)
Federal Realty Investment Trust built the Row between 2001 and 2002 and named it after Frank M. Santana, a San Jose planning commissioner of the 1950s. On August 19, 2002, a month before opening, its largest building burned in the biggest fire in San Jose’s history; the Row was rebuilt and opened that November. (Wikipedia, San Francisco Chronicle, SJSU)
Today the Row counts more than 50 shops, 30 restaurants, 662 rental homes, 219 condominiums and the 215-room Hotel Valencia, the only hotel on the Row. Self-parking is free for the first two hours, and the Family Foyer in Santana Heights has changing stations, nursing rooms and a children’s play area. (Santana Row, Santana Row: Visit)
Santana Row Park and Park Valencia host the year: a Lunar New Year celebration with lion dances, Cars and Croissants mornings, Halloween and Día de los Muertos festivals, a makers’ market on second Saturdays and a 40-foot Christmas tree lit each November. (Santana Row: Events, Silicon Valley Voice)
