Santana Row

A 42-acre district of shops, restaurants, homes, offices and a hotel on Stevens Creek Boulevard at Winchester Boulevard, opened in November 2002 on the site of Town & Country Village.

Santana Row is a mixed-use “village within a city” in the Winchester neighborhood of West San Jose, built by Federal Realty Investment Trust between 2001 and 2002 for about $450 million. It takes its name from Frank M. Santana, a member of San Jose’s planning commission in the 1950s.

A month before it was due to open, its largest building burned in the biggest fire in San Jose’s history. Federal Realty rebuilt, and the district opened in November 2002. Today it counts more than 50 shops, 30 restaurants, 662 rental homes, 219 condominiums and a 215-room hotel, and more than 8.5 million visits a year.
