Town & Country Village opened in 1960 across Stevens Creek Boulevard from Valley Fair, with red-roofed buildings, specialty stores, covered walkways and ample parking. It sat on a 33-acre site less than four miles from downtown San Jose. On May 17, 1977, the first Chuck E. Cheese’s Pizza Time Theatre opened there.
By the time the land came up for sale in 1997, the center had been out of date for two decades. It was razed in the late 1990s, and Santana Row was built in its place.
